A competitively priced cordless machine is not always a complete kit. Before ordering, check which battery, charger and accessories are included with your selected version.
1. Check the battery platform
Note the brand, machine model and battery code. Matching voltage does not guarantee compatibility. STIHL AK and AP, for example, are different systems. An AP battery cannot replace an AK battery in an AK machine.
2. Bare tool or complete kit
If you already own a suitable battery and charger, a bare tool may suit you. When starting with a new system, compare the total price of machine, battery and charger with the kit price. A version sold without battery and charger does not include those parts.
3. Compare capacity and weight
Working time depends on the machine, battery and workload. Do not choose on capacity alone. Weight also matters with handheld tools. Ask which combination suits your work.
4. Plan your next purchase
